Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records, but the hard part is figuring out which office or portal holds the file you want. In Caldwell County, the Clerk of Superior Court keeps Superior Court, District Court, estates, special proceedings, judgments, liens, and other court files. The Register of Deeds handles marriage licenses, certified marriage copies, birth and death records, real estate records, and recorded instruments. The Sheriff's Office manages the jail and law enforcement records, while eCourts Portal now handles statewide online case search, hearing search, judgment search, and eligible payments.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
